The awkward comparisons between Northern Ireland and the Levant by people who don’t have an inkling of geopolitics. Our community in the 6 counties lived in an apartheid state for 50 years until the Troubles -and for 400 years on the Ireland of Ireland since the first plantations and no form of Irish struggle resorted to the wholesale barbarism that we saw on October 7th.
There will be no peace now. What kind of a precedent would that set for the world? Irish people in droves were saying “but but Israel” while beheaded Jewish babies were still smouldering and then tried to deny the atrocities. It was disgraceful.

Finally one has to ask, what about the more than 8000 dead Palestinian women and children? Why is your anger and disgust not as strong? Ever wonder at the discrepancy between the coverage of Israeli and Palestinian deaths? Why don’t MSM devote as much ink and airtime to Palestinians and their deaths?
