My birthday is the day after Halloween. I had a couple of friends for a sleep over that year and we watched that, gave us bloody nightmares for ages
Quality! We’ve interviewed the guy who wrote it, Stephen Volk (on current ep of our podcast) and he said that Ghostwatch almost never existed. Was meant to be a 6 part series – but BBC wouldn’t fund it. Then they basically made the final episode into a stand alone. The producer apparently put pumpkins etc on the set so that the BBC would have to show it at Halloween. Oh, and the BBC didn’t want them to use actual presenters, they wanted to use actors. Basically the BBC kept trying to ruin it… but eventually came up trumps I guess! Amazing bit of TV.
