  1. >The Scottish government will hand over more than 14,000 electronic messages to the UK Covid Inquiry, the deputy first minister has announced.

    >Shona Robison also said First Minister Humza Yousaf would share his unredacted WhatsApp messages.

    >Ms Robison said the government received a request in September from the UK Covid Inquiry to hand over WhatsApp messages from officials, ministers and former ministers related to the pandemic.

    >She told MSPs that the government requested a formal legal order, under section 21 of the Inquiries Act 2005, to release WhatsApp and other informal messages because of data privacy concerns.

    >The deputy first minister said that “all requested messages held will be shared in full and unredacted by 6 November”.

  2. >She told MSPs that the government requested a formal legal order, under section 21 of the Inquiries Act 2005, to release WhatsApp and other informal messages because of data privacy concerns.

So why didn’t the Inquiry follow the correct procedure in the first place, leading to claims that the information was being withheld by the SG?

  3. Government communication should be restricted to government devices with automated retention policies.

  4. So when Ross said they all got deleted the other day he was talking shite?

    Widna be like him..

  5. Is r/Scotland just a platform for anti Scottish propaganda? I’ve lived abroad for decades, came here to feel at home but the abject negativity, Scotland bad/ Scotland bashing/ SNP crooks is absolutely sickening. The plethora of spammy bots and Anglo propagandists is laughable.
