  1. The fact that they’re saying they’ll “pay for” aid to Israel by cutting funding to IRS enforcement tells you everything you need to know. It’s a well known fact (to them as well, I’m sure) that every dollar spent on IRS enforcement brings in at least several dollars in collected taxes.

    So they’re not trying to “Pay For” jack shit unless you count them paying their wealthy tax dodging right wing donors back.

  8. I don’t understand why Israel needs our money. Btw republicans would rather give them money than Ukraine. Ukraine is defending itself and helping us take away Russian resources. Plus if Ukraine wins Western civilization gets rich oil fields. What does Israel offer?

  9. This is such a political own-goal. They could have had their opposition twisting themselves into knots with all the nuances war funding entails but instead they tied it to reducing *the irs*!? That’s a much easier thing to argue about publicly for Democrats.

  10. It is for reasons such as this that as an independent, I can’t see myself voting for a Republican for the foreseeable future. I would suggest they try good governance to earn some respect from me, but instead all we get is their dysfunctional shitshow.

    Seriously, that’s all the do. They are a party that helps the wealthy. They have this crazy relationship with their base where the base demands the culture war or else they riot, and the GOP does what they ask so they can stay in power.

    But the end goal has always been tax cuts for the rich friends. Every time without exception.

Get into power via lying about crime and drugs and the border, try to pass ridiculous bills that cut social services, the democrats inevitably reject them and then the GOP blames the dems for not working with them and failing to pass anything. And the american people fall for it every 5-6 years. Its maddening.

  16. The key here will be the Democrats telling average working people that IRS funding does not affect them. It will affect the multi-millionaires and billionaires. Get the message out that the IRS isn’t looking for that $200.00 in tips that you forgot to report 2 years ago.

Trickle down is a failure of an idea, and the GQP has proven over and over to everyone but themselves. They refuse to admit the obvious failure.

  20. Defunding the IRS is the opposite of a pay for. Funding the IRS is the only direct ROI expenditure the government has.
