  1. That’s weird, it’s not even the old pound coin, as that was slightly smaller diameter, unless the trolley only takes old ones?!

  2. Can’t imagine how you must have felt with that smug face looking up at you as you gave up trying to push it in. Condolences brother.

  3. No shit, the pound coin changed size and shape years ago lol

  4. How unethical is it if I go back to Poundland and ask for my £1 donation back out of the charity bucket

  5. I saw a sign in B&M last week saying their trolleys won’t take tokens, only £’s. Maybe it’s the new trolley style.

  6. Pro tip: the little blue coins from Tesco, for choosing a charity, are £1 sized and works in trolleys!

  7. I’ve found one or two trolley coins before and thought “oh nice! I’ll keep that in the tray in the car!”.

Then when I used them you find that sometimes they aren’t quite right and you end up faffing to try and put the trolley back and release the ersatz coin.

  8. The ultimate £1 troll, from Poundland… its because we’re £1.25 land now mfkers!

    **evil laugh**

  9. None of the shops near me need a pound for the trolley? I thought that was phased out?

  10. You’ve put it in wrong. There’s another slightly lower level where you put it in at an angle, then it will fit.

User error, sorry. The trolleys are designed for this, people, not so much.

  11. Once brought a tape measure from Poundland. Turned out that the measurements were *way* off.

  12. Reddit Journal: October 31st, 2023.
Tonight a, comedian died in Tesco.

  13. I’ve got images in my head of Khaby Lame making a sarcastic video, hand gestures and all, about how you spent £1 on something that doesn’t do it’s primary function…when you could have just used said £1 for the trolley 🤣

  14. Take a key off ya keyring it works if its got the right head to it
