My fellow Norwegians.

My wife is foren and we have a discussion what way is the correct way of taking butter out of the butter box.
Me (nr 1) slowly works my way down and scrape off the sides while me my wife (nr 2) just digs into the middle.
So I need to know what way you do it!
Personally i think she is a bit of a maniac for doing it that way but mine might also be just as insane.

  1. I agree that she is a maniac. She has probably grown up in a home that always used butter that was hard as a diamond, but in my view that doesn’t really excuse carrying on with such behaviour into adulthood.

  2. As long as you don’t use a dirty knife/fork/spoon I think it’s okay either way

  5. Needs a compromise option 3, in which the butter is landscaped into gently sloping hills.

  11. Learned a superior 3rd way last summer. Always take the outer sides, leaving a hill in the middle. Even spread of butter on a larger surface of the knife.

  12. Depends on the butter.

    Bremykt/Hard butter: Nr1 (Because its rather hard)
    Soft butter: Nr2 (It just becomes to much butter when I try to scrape soft butter off)

  13. Nr 1 is the only way and its not up for discussion. (Out of these two at least)

  14. You can report her to the authorities. They will probably euthanize her, to save her from the madness that has obviously taken over her, which will be worsen in time.
    I’m about to take the same road too, as i scoop almost like her

  15. Looks like your wife is either Russian or some Eastern European country. I have the same struggles 😂 My worst nightmare is when she uses the already greased up cooking utensil to dig out more butter. Or when the same spoon/knife that was in the jam jar goes into the box of sour cream 😅 After almost 7 years, I have become shamefully neutral to it.
