This was never a requirement before. Sms is still possible, but that option is more expensive.
Data = free money.
As if they are a super exclusive club where they have to vet your identity to check if you are allowed on the cool bus.
No account? Get a taxi like the other peasants.
4411 app gebruiken?
TEC was always like this.. Delijn joins the party I guess..

I was surprised by this right before having to catch a tram. I was not amused.
What is even worse, and this is already the case for years: you even need an account just to save your favourite lines and stops in the app. I have complained several times about this already, but to no avail.
you can buy a bus ticket with KBC mobile also, I guess with other bank apps as well.
OH FOR FOCKS SAKE
It was too easy, wasn’t it?
One thing that surprised me in the past is how you could buy tickets via the app only if you had a Belgian number.
Een handige QR-code kunnen krijgen. Spaar ze allemaal!!!
I use my bankapp to buy it. Depending on your bank you can also try that.
Yeah and I somehow can’t get into the app anymore even after making my account even though I still had valid tickets in there.
I rarely take the bus so maybe this is already a thing. Why don’t they just install devices on the bus that let you select your destination and have it generate a QR code that you can scan with PayConiq/your banking app? No need to have jump through these hoops then
What happens to previously bought tickets? When all you needed was a phone number?
I read that they rolled out the pay bills NFC in all trans, but buses will be in 2022. You just tap your bank card and it acts as a ticket. More convenient than in the app IMHO
to be fair, this was long overdue. Ever had to change phones? It’s a nightmare. You had to call them, they had to run scripts in their backend semi-manually.
Or even if you had to factory reset your phone, the app would block.
You could not have the tickets on two phones. You could not buy on ipad and use on iphone.

The accounts solve these problems. They could have made the onboarding less intrusive though.
Never once had my ticket checked on the tram in Antwerpen, ride daily. And I have one.
Joepie, een handige QR-code voor eventuele probleempjes! Lekker betuttelend!
Saw this too and tried buying a ticket via the Payconiq app. Worked straight away.
Edit: dt-fout 🙁
My gf had to take a tram in Brussels the other day. Apparently STIB-MIVB app is even more horrible.
Why why why the fuck do you need an account for every single things these days. Someone should come up with a better alternative.
The KBC app is working great to avoid this… You can just buy all tickets in the app
$$$data$$$
This is why I still text DL to 4884. I have a prepaid MV account so it’s money I’ve already spent anyway.
Question: what will happen to tickets I already bought?
Feed me your data!
I use the KBC app for all that stuff
I just get to the ticket machine and pay cash, Everytime i see stuff like this where u are pushed to make an account i just immediately seek for other solutions. Same in Brussels, you wanna pay for parking, well here is the deal, no cash or pay with app where u need to make an account.
Do like this:
Use as many fake info as you can, if you care and you find it funny (it’s not a legal contract)
Use a bad word as password (or anything you like, like sweatygranny69) for all these useless accounts, use always the same who cares.
Also avoid doing anything for any service without being paid, like surveys and shit like that. Also don’t do anything to ‘improve’ their service, since they don’t even try why should you even bother?
Flame them on social media with some hyper disappointment, exaggerate like what they did is as bas as raping your mother. It works like this today, be sure to complain and please be irrational if they try to justify themselves, just turn anything they say against them interpreting it in the worst possible way.
(share the link if you do that please)
Isn’t this already from this summer? I took the bus once then, and I had to create an account, or was strongly advised to. Don’t really mind this actually.
