Out of pure curiosity what’s the danish word for the UK “chavs” or scottish “neds”. Was in Hjørring the other day and saw a group of lads like them in the picture and felt like in the uk, they were full package shouting and forcing a deep voice.

  1. If white/danish they’d be called Brian’er.

If middle eastern, they’d be yalla’er.

  2. Boomers: ballademagere

Millennials: provinstyper / folk fra Slagelse

    GenZ: perks and terfs

The latter is very offensive though, suggesting they are all immigrants and lower society.

  3. I’ll go first. If you are as old as me, you would probably call them “rødder”. (misbehaved, naughty or rude persons).

  4. A lot of people where I’m from would call them “gangsters” in a sarcastic tone, implying that they are wannabes…

  5. I can’t think of a word that really has the same meaning and connotations as “chavs” is Danish. I don’t really agree with the suggestions of “rødder”, “bøller” or “ballademagere”. “Brian’er” is probably the closest so far, but I’m not sure it has the same implication of social class as “chavs” has. Or maybe I’m blissfully unaware.

  6. Gadedrenge – Street boys. Go around them nothing positive comes with interacting with those losers

  7. The only right answer where im from:

    Plastic perkere

as in, theyre trying to act tough like theyve been through a lot. trying to speak like immigrants, thinking that selling drugs is the coolest thing a person can do. so, plastic perkere.

  8. Brian,
Bøv ( used to mean manchild, now it means chav),
    Prol

  9. In Aalborg, we call those “Marmelade rockers” I think it works on all levels.

  10. “Randers types” (a town that has a stereotype for being chav-like)

  11. Think they are called Bøsser – they are harmless…

  12. At uni we would refer them as “Prul”. Derived from the word Proletariat.

  13. In Hjørring???????
Huh, I have never seen anyone like that
