Found him in the kitchen! It’s cold out so how do I keep him safe?

  1. I found one in my living room not long ago! We put it outside, but that was before it went really chilly.

  2. They live outside and should be in hibernation now. You could find a rock or log for him to sleep under.

  3. Appears to be a smooth newt, or common newt. They are wild animals who survive in cold weather by hibernating under vegegation, leaves or rocks. Not sure how it got into your kitchen but a life indoors isn’t suitable.

  4. Let him go and sort himself out, if you don’t it’ll be dead in a day or two.

  5. They are actually protected, although you have already sent him back to the wild.

  6. First off, stop letting him read the news, it’s bad for his mental state.
