I’d be ok with them banning temu ads for being so fucking prevalent, but this is just dumb.
I’ve used Temu and never thought any of these things when looking for some cheap clothes for my daughter. You have to be sick in the head to think them.
I mean all this crap aside they should be banned for being so bloody annoying!
Can they ban people from sending Temu links to their contacts too? Gives me the absolute rage, it’s annoying and constant.
“these damn kids are getting too damn sexy” ~ someone at the ASA.
To be honest, I dont agree with the reasoning, but I am happy temu ads are banned
I agree with this. I have seen lots of Temu adverts that show random objects posed in such a way that make you double take as they initially look like sex toys.
Temu – Puppet sidekick of the Yorkshire Rod Hull.
(I miss Barry Cryer).
Guess its just me that thinks putting children in bikinis is weird. Just me and the ASA whose job it is to watch adverts as a professional body and rule on their appropriateness…
Who cares about the reason tbh. China doesn’t play fair with western companies so we shouldn’t play fair with them.

If you see a child in a bikini with, shock horror, “a hand on her hip” and have sexual thoughts about it, then you need to be locked up.
The actual ruling is here, if you want some more detail: https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/whaleco-uk-ltd-g23-1202845-whaleco-uk-ltd.html
