As you can see, we managed to accumulate 0.99 expected goals over 90 minutes against a 15th place third division team (we even outperformed what was expected). Sure we had ball possession the majority of the time but we didnt really do anything with it. The 2nd half was even worse because we had even more possession but our ineffectiveness was even higher. Saarbrücken had two big chances in which they did score both times (you could say that was a bit lucky to score both) but keep in mind that the other big chances they had did not even count as expected goals because pur defenders endangered the situation in the last second.
TLDR: Based off statistics and eye test we were not the better team and therefore did not deserve to win today. This was not some lucky heist by Saarbrücken, rather a good defending and a bayern team that did not show up on gameday.
