Yet when I, someone who works in the telecoms industry directly for Vodafone and EE, said way back when The Event happened that this was going to happen, I had plenty of people frothing at the knees with incandescent rage* telling me I was a doomsayer and that they’d never do it as it would be commercial suicide.
And yet here we find ourselves.

This was one of the least surprising developments of Brexit, only a fucking idiot would have believed otherwise.
I remember arguing about this with a Brexiteer before the vote. They thought it was worth losing for the ‘benefits’ of Brexit.
In a fair world Brexit voters would get charged a premium for roaming and subsidise the rest that did not want this.
Are there any companies that still have free data roaming?
Dont forget your GBP is worth 30% less
against the EUR because of Brexit.
Ok it’s not ideal but maybe we can learn to live without our phones on holiday. You can always keep it on you so you still have your contacts there in case of an emergency. And you can still take all those pictures for the gram, you’ll just have to wait till you get home to upload them. Unless there’s something I’m missing here 🤷♂️
Imagine all those ex pats, living in Spain etc with a British phone contract. Several voted leave….doh.
These should be paid for by the government and the money raised via a special sovereignty tax on farmers and fishermen and Brexit voting regions.
