Holiday-goers gear up for roaming fees as EE and Vodafone introduce European charges in new year

  1. Quite funny that they all (aside from O2) just lied about it out loud to avoid upsetting pro Leave people.

Can’t wait for someone to make a comment about how it’s just the elites who care about this.

  2. Yet when I, someone who works in the telecoms industry directly for Vodafone and EE, said way back when The Event happened that this was going to happen, I had plenty of people frothing at the knees with incandescent rage* telling me I was a doomsayer and that they’d never do it as it would be commercial suicide.

And yet here we find ourselves.

  3. Well worth it for the blue passports!
This was one of the least surprising developments of Brexit, only a fucking idiot would have believed otherwise.

  4. I remember arguing about this with a Brexiteer before the vote. They thought it was worth losing for the ‘benefits’ of Brexit.

  5. Ok it’s not ideal but maybe we can learn to live without our phones on holiday. You can always keep it on you so you still have your contacts there in case of an emergency. And you can still take all those pictures for the gram, you’ll just have to wait till you get home to upload them. Unless there’s something I’m missing here 🤷‍♂️
