  1. Like a true introvert I order my clothes online. Then if they don’t fit I put them in a clothes bank as it wouldn’t feel right hassling someone with returns.

  2. Individual and personalised queues and we’ll be laughing.

  3. Hold on, people actually like self service checkouts? Ok, in a supermarket when you’re getting a couple of things they’re handy. But because you don’t want the human interaction?

  4. You can be introverted and still able to talk and engage with people no problem.

I think your mixing up being introverted with being shy/socially awkward/nervous etc.

  5. This isnt being introverted its being agoraphobic if having yo say “hello” & “cheers mate” to a cashier puts you off shopping

  6. Great! If only i knew where this shop was now….

  7. Every self service checkout puts a staff members job at risk.

  8. Ugh grow up. Being introverted doesn’t mean avoiding all human interaction. Hellish stuff.

  9. Dunno why people are being so negative, not everyone has a big social battery and even the minor “hey” “I’ve my own bag” “thanks” can be draining for a lot of people especially if theyve a lot going on.

It doesn’t mean you’re agoraphobic just because you want to do your shop without social interaction once in a while.

For me I’ve got cptsd and some bad days I need to save my social battery for my loved ones or I’ll be worn out for everyone, the same can be said for some people on the autism spectrum as well just stressed or tired average joes.

If it shortens the peak time queues it’s a godsend. standing around in a muggy shop being sneezed on by a toddler behind you and a group of teenagers eating the face off each other in front is a special kind of hell

  10. They won’t last long when people are stealing left right and centre.

  11. The staff at my Penney’s are always sound. Maybe it’s a bit Hallmark but with so much of the world going down the swanny, sharing a smile and getting one back is a net positive, a valid connection and something we need more of. We can’t seem to stop the world’s biggest polluters, we can’t seem to stop despotic nations buying up sports leagues and teams, but we can at least manage that.

  12. Introverts have no difficulty talking to cashiers or performing basic social functions. They just don’t find it particularly enjoyable.

I’m saying this as someone who has extreme social anxiety and has been in therapy to deal with it – if you’re praying for self-service machines so you can avoid a few seconds interacting with a staff member, you’re not an introvert, you have social anxiety and therapy can help.

  13. That’s not being introverted that’s being socially broken

  14. One time, I used the self service checkout in Tesco without needing any assistance, and they made me the area manager!!!

  15. Let’s call a spade a spade here.

That’s not introversion if you cannot walk into a shop and buy something out of fear of being in the presence of a cashier.

  16. Get rid of self service altogether , fuck self service I don’t work for Penney’s or Tesco , SuperValu etc I am not scanning my own stuff for free

  17. Shy teenage crossdresser dreams come true 25 years later 😂
