Hi guys, found this fella in the bathroom this morning. Not sure what it is. He ran off under the skirting boards as you can see in the video. Is it a mouse or rat?
I included the video for a better view of it, ignore my terrified scream 😂

looks like a hippo mate.
Looks like a mouse to me. A similar looking wee bastard made a mess crawling up past the pipes and running around my bathroom a couple of months ago.
I think it’s a mouse
Mouse.
Rats are outside, mice are inside.
So if a mouse goes outside it becomes a rat, and if a rat is in the house, it’s a mouse. You never see no mouse outside. That’s because it’s a rat foooool!
They come in for the heat in winter use expanding foam in pipe gaps or gaps in ventilation and don’t leave the door open or get a cat but mines a useless fat fuck 😂
Mouse.
Now, have you ever considered getting into opera. That soprano voice…

100% a mouse, If you see a rat, you know right away. 😉
Make sure that all small entry’s from outside are sealed, always keep doors closed and keep it clean.
They are mostly looking to stay warm these days.
It’s a mouse, trust me it’s better than a rat.
Hairy Japanese Bastard.
Mouse.
Rat are big fuckers
It looks like a friend
Judging by the fact that it did not once jump on your head and attempt to marionette you into being a French chef?
Definitely a mouse.
Mouse in for the winter
The noise you made nearly had my coffee out my nose 😂 it’s a mouse not a rat, I used to keep pet rats and they will be at least twice that size. Poor wee toot
Rats are about the size of a small cat. Body about 15 to 20cm long and tail about the same. They are big
You’ll know a rat when you see one. They’re bigger than you’d think. That’s a mouse.
We had 2 mice in our house around January this year.
One was dispatched quickly by an old school snap trap.
The other was cornered by our dog trying to play with it (shes half golden retriever half collie everything is a toy) , and I had to bash it’s injured body with a bat.
An exterminator was called 400 quid later and several holes were filled in with expanding foam. Traps laid, and a cat adopted.
We are prepared now. Hopefully. The problem last year was a bunch of dead trees were chopped down around the estate. So the mice that lived in them were homeless. A few houses around had mice pop up.
Rats are much larger, braver, bolder, and you’d know right away just by the size it was a rat.
Lay down some poison, a snap trap in that bathroom, get a cat, a terrier, a snake, and a machine gun.
Harmless mouse looking for a warm place to put their feet up.
Just right-click him and then press exit
Everyone saying it’s a mouse but could it not be a very young rat. I had rats as pets and my cats have brought in rat/mice from the garden both alive and dead and tbh I have been on the fence sometimes whether they are a baby rat or a mouse.
Either way you should be able to get it gone humanely with a bit of finessing. I had a debacle recently where my cat brought in a ratmouse. Usually I get it off them and can grab it with a cloth while it’s dazed and leave it outside. This time though my wife screamed, enough that the cat got a fright and ran out of the house without the ratmouse. Wife ran out of the kitchen and ratmouse had plenty of time to decide his next move which was to set up shop behind the kitchen cupboards and fridge.
Ended up spreading flour on the floor to confirm the ratmouse was even around, it was. Bought humane mouse traps, didn’t entice ratmouse. Had a near success when one of the cats caught ratmouse and left him on the kitchen table, I cornered ratmouse but he out smarter me and ran back behind the fridge. Couple days later one of the cats caught him again and brought him into the sitting room where he hid somewhere inaccessible. Que myself and my 2 cats who usually don’t get on sitting on the floor and waiting for ratmouse. Eventually ratmouse climbed out from his hidey hole and ran under a table, I was trying to move him into the open to no avail.
What worked eventually was I brought in a massive black plastic pot from the kitchen and pointed it sideways beside where the ratmouse was. I think he was enticed by the darkness of the pot and instinctually ran into it. I turned it upright and grabbed the dogs bed nearby to cover it up (now the dog was involved). I ended up leaving him out at the end of my garden because his incarceration device was flimsy, and I reasoned that he probably was only in the house because of the joint effort of the cat and my wife
Too small to be a rat.
Mouse
If you have to ask if its a mouse or a rat, it’s a mouse!
