White conservative ‘christians’ will never change their beliefs – they want to change people who don’t believe like them, look like them, talk like them, think like them. These people claim they espouse that which is in the bible – like Mike Johnson – and yet they cannot follow the simple ‘teachings’ of a Jew who hung around with a bunch of guys who went on fishing trips, long hiking trips to meet other folks, passing along stories about how hating others not like you isn’t going to get you far in life. They fail to understand the parables in that book they claim is the only one that matters.
Okay, they are free to practice their ‘religion’ and I am cool with that, but I am also afforded the right not to believe in their ‘religion’ nor practice their ‘lifestyle.’ I ran across an article not too long ago that surveyed people’s church attendance and I thought it somewhat surprising that these numbers are falling quite quickly, and younger people are less inclined to be active in any church. Great news! There will be fewer ‘christians’ hassling me and bending my ear. No such luck – it is precisely people like Mike Johnson who, given the soap box, will whip up a frenzy among fellow ‘christians’ to further marginalize everyone who aren’t like them.
And perhaps the most asinine and infuriating aspect of the white conservative ‘christian’ is how they wrap themselves in the American flag and call themselves ‘patriots’ and defenders of God’s word.
