Look at the difference in approach BBC Scotland takes to the news Alister Jack has withheld evidence from the UK Covid Inquiry. No innuendo, no questions, no doorstepping, no speculation. Nothing at all. They’re operating an ‘SNP only’ editorial policy.

  1. For comparisons sake:

[Glenn Campbell launches a lengthy smear attack against the SNP and Scottish Govt. This is what passes for political analysis on BBC Scotland these days. A tabloid hotchpotch of gossip, innuendo, speculation and smear.](https://youtu.be/uwKN7hRb4Ew?si=37g4k4yRoteb0cai)

[Watch as Martin Geissler admits that two stories that have dominated BBC Scotland news in the last few days may not in fact be true. The broadcaster is literally lifting headlines, that smear the former FM & the current National Clinical Director, from Unionist newspapers.](https://twitter.com/msm_monitor/status/1718759265567985961?t=aAAv4prDXJEy–FdX_Nb9Q&s=19)

[and yet it hasn’t prevented them from headlining it all week](https://twitter.com/msm_monitor/status/1719113370903695439?t=toICXWPH-xrYmAD1sMXA1w&s=19)

If BBC Scotland’s line for when they get criticised for biased reporting is that “they are allowed to scrutinise Government” (of course they are, it is a deflection from the actual criticism) and if they are working with this logic, then its clear that Alistair Jack may well have something to hide in his WhatsApp messages too, right?

I’d be **very** interested to know, as someone whose relatives died prematurely when Eat Out to Help Out became a thing, what the hell Alistair Jack’s WhatsApp messages looked like

It is, in my opinion, just as much part of the public interest as the SNP’s (reportedly/unverified) missing messages if not moreso

  2. At this point they just need to rebrand to the EBC

  3. The covid enquiry revealing that plans were afoot to deliberately kill off thousands of people is just barely on the BBC’s front page, tucked away in a corner.

Remember that time Sturgeon forgot to wear her mask indoors for four seconds and the media in the entire country almost disappeared up their own arses over it for about a week.

  4. Alastair Jack is a minor player in the UK COVID enquiry – the equivalent of Ash Regan withholding evidence in the Scottish one.

The SNP story has been around the senior decision makers in the SG deleting their WhatsApp messages. The UK equivalent would be Johnson and Sunak deleting all theirs.

  5. We’re on day 8 of story or screaming fairy tale, if you prefer, where the only substance is the Scottish Government have provided the requested information to the inquiry, once they had received the necessary legal release to do so.

  6. The BBC is funded by the UK government, criticising the British government is directly opposed to their interests. They’ll criticise the SNP because they don’t lose out on anything if they do.

The BBC isn’t biased in favour of the British government, the BBC *is* the British government.

  7. I dont think Humza is a good FM but if it wasn’t against the rules to delete parts of conversations , I really can’t stress enough how little I care.

As far as I’m aware WhatsApp wasn’t even the official communication method.

It’s just a big distraction from Johnson and Sunak sanctioning a cull of the elderly for the sake of the “economy” and declining living standards across the UK.

  8. Your weekly reminder that the only difference between Russia Today and the BBC is who pays the bills

  9. Ah, today’s *We’re being perrrrrrrsecuted* conspiracy thread.

  10. Can we all just stop watching/listening to them? Boycott their v obvious bias

  11. Its anti-anything Scotland. Always has been for at least near 40 years.
Scotland are used in England like a political punching bag too if you ever watch the BBC down there.

  12. Quite a lot of alts, bots and yoons do the same on here.

  13. The paranoia in this sub is beyond palpable on occasion. It’s getting a little bit pathetic to be truthful.
