A furious Anas Sarwar claimed Keir Starmer’s comments on the bloodshed in Gaza lacked “empathy” and “humanity” during an emotional outburst.
The Scottish Labour leader outlined his anger at a meeting with a pro-Labour Muslim group over Starmer’s backing for Israel cutting off humanitarian supplies to Gaza.
Sarwar also said a “repair job” with Muslim voters would be required “every day” by Labour until the general election.
The Glasgow MSP was upset with Starmer over a radio interview on October 11 in which he suggested Israel had the “right” to withhold water and supplies from Gaza after the Hamas terror attack.He was further incensed when it took Starmer’s office days to clarify this was not his position.
According to a leaked account of a meeting of MSPs and the Labour Muslim Network on October 16, Sarwar thanked the Network for trying to get Labour into a more “sensible” position.
He added: “I recognise what you say around the hurt, particularly felt by Muslim communities. If anything, I would say you downplayed the hurt, rather than played it up.
“I can tell you first hand how devastated people are right across the Muslim community. And that is not to negate or talk down the devastation felt in the Jewish community.”
Scottish Labour is run by English Labour, who in turn are bought by the Israeli lobby. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

Paul Hutcheon (political editor of Daily Record) is a well known Scottish Labour branch stooge, so of course he’s running a PR campaign on behalf of Sarwar.
Was this leaked to try and bolster Sarwar in Scotland? Since Scotland and England seem to have two different feelings towards the Gaza conflict.
One day politicians will focus on Scotland and the huge problems faced every day by the majority of the population.
Sarwar needs to suck it up. This is the reality of living under the same roof as yer da who calls the shots because, he’s bigger, older, wiser and better qualified to deal with the realpolitik of this matter, because he works in the big parliament.

I’m pretty sure this leak is deliberate. By pretending there’s a difference of opinion between Scottish Labour and UK Labour, the hope is to win over SNP voters.
