MAX is changing the features of their ad free plan starting 12/5 – removing 4k streaming and limiting the # of devices that can stream at once

  2. These multi corporations that are worth multi billions will do ANYTHING to make more billions. Remember when you could just buy a computer program. Now EVERYTHING is a subscription so we’re forced to pay continuously for infinity.

  3. i’m personally annoyed that there’s (1) no reasoning or justification for this change in the email sent to subscribers considering the price bumped to $16 A MONTH in January and (2) the lack of press release (and press) regarding this

  6. While the loss of 4K streams isn’t a huge problem, it is one more step in the enshittification of streaming – trying to turn it into the cash cow cable was for so long until they enshittified it right into the gutter. No thank you. I cancelled MAX.

    Word is my $19.99 Netflix Ultra will go up to $22.99 soon. Welp, you’re next on the chopping block. I’ll get my content “elsewhere” or just watch less TV.

  13. If we didn’t get Max with our data plan, I probably wouldn’t subscribe. There are a few things that my husband and I watch but it’s not something we couldn’t do without if push came to shove.

    But those with 4k TVs, I can see this being an annoyance. Just a tad…

    However they didn’t have a ton of stuff in 4k anyway.

    Plus there will never be a time I will ever pay extra for 4k anyway regardless of the streamer.

  16. Just download it all on the internet and watch as you wish. The hell with these companies. Enough is enough with paying for a product and the price of that product going up every 6mo for no actual reason beyond MORE profit and HIGHER earnings. It’s one thing with for example some SAAS products. The product improves, provides more value, price goes up. But these media companies, it’s a complete sham scam.
