  1. Tricky to find super recent data but [this](https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/food-expenditure-share-gdp?tab=table) shows that in 2021, 17.2% of Polish people’s expenditure went on food, while in the UK it was 8.7%

As far as I know, Poland hasn’t had a severe enough delta on either food inflation or average income vs the UK since 2021 to fully close this gap, so it’s still the case that people in Britain spend less of their income on food

A Lidl employee in Warsaw earns at least somewhere around €10,000 a year (£8,700), while in the UK it’s at least £21k

  2. So we’re paid worse and our food costs more. No wonder the country is so shit. I blame Brexit, driving up food costs and driving down wages.

  3. Isn’t only the UK. I live in the Netherlands, and do most of my shopping in Germany. Alcohol, tobacco, petrol, fizzy drinks, toiletries, often meat and dairy products, chocolate and sweets, better special offers, etc. Some things are more expensive, but when you count everything up we definitely save. Our monthly food bill is about €300 (GBP 260) for 2 people. That is including things bought in the Netherlands, such as eggs, bread, etc. because we only go there about once in the 2 months. I also smoke (but this isn’t included in this figure. In Germany I pay €5.40 for 40g rolling tobacco. In the Netherlands it is around the €11 for the same amount. Also relevant is that a lot of these prices are the difference between Lidl Netherlands, and Lidl Germany. I think only on foodstuffs we save between 20% and 25% on average.

  4. So, in a video about the cost of living crisis, two posh mummy’s boys turn down a free place to stay and humiliate a man because it’s a bit run down.

    Classy,

  5. Yup. Went to the eu recently and everything was soooo cheap

  6. So, they demonstrated a cost of living crisis by shopping in a different country with a different cost of living? And they found the prices were different? No way!

If they shopped in Switzerland, do we think the prices would be different again?

Who let these remedial copulating curly-tailed, snorting farm animals access passports?

  7. I watched the video. I don’t recommend it. These guys are insufferable. Half of the video was them moaning about Poland in a verry arrogant and disrespectful way. They disrespected their Couchsurfing host, Jakub, and I’m pretty sure one of them called him Jack-off. 🙄

  8. They also acted like a complete douchebags and humiliated some ppl in their clips. Dont promote them.
