I’d like to think if we could find a way to live with each other the Israelis and the Palestinians can too but they couldn’t be further from even beginning that conversation about peace now and the truth is their situation is a tad more extreme than ours was.
I mean say what you want about the Brits but they didn’t launch rockets into hospitals, their response to an IRA attack wasn’t to bomb south Armagh back into the Stone Age. The situation in Gaza is quite beyond what we went through and peace hasn’t entered their dictionary yet. I think the only peace that can be expected in Israel and Palestine now is one that is imposed. Unfortunately the only ones who can do that have clearly taken a side.
