  1. Does anyone know why “we use different technology“?

Is it just outdated (my first guess), greener or better for eyes/animals etc?

  2. And yet the past 2 years almost every time I’m driving in the dark the lights are turned off. The other week they came on while it was already pretty light outside only to then turn off again 20-25 mins later. That was pretty useless.

  3. Belgians mastering the extremely important task of lighting up space at night so the aliens can see us. Energy well spent.

  4. The plan to leave nuclear without black out is to light off the road in the same time…

  5. As someone who suffers from night blindness in the car and on a bike, I can only be grateful we light up motorways and cycle paths that much. Fuck the haters, there’s other things to worry about, such as the whole PFOS thing which recently happened.

  6. I’m not sure our highways are still lit nowadays like they use to be. It’s only when it’s real bad weather right?

Thinking today it’s more about Belgium or at least Flanders being pretty much completely urbanized, street lights, city centres, cross roads.. instead of it being the highways or even the big roads.
