Expelling Israeli ambassador would undermine efforts to get Irish out of Gaza: Tánaiste

  1. This looks to me like Ireland is negotiating with terrorists to recover their hostage citizens from under Israel’s attack.

How is this even happening and the US and EU are allowing Israel to do whatever they want.

  2. Israel have been trying to get Ireland to expel their ambassador about a day after the Hamas attack.
    So they can say:

“See? We told you the Irish were antisemetic terrorist sympathisers.”

Maybe any Israelis living in Ireland who support IDF bombing civilians should F O back home to Israel because their views are not welcome here and the Irish won’t be gaslighted into believing Israel is just “defending themselves”.

Even the US(the only reason Israel is able to exist) is telling them to chill out a minut

  3. The major player at the Gaza-Rafah crossing is Egypt. Negotiations surrounding the crossing, however, involve Israel and Hamas via Qatar as well. Progress in evacuating citizens has been somewhat random — for instance, Japanese citizens left before German citizens, despite Germany having closer relations with Israel. My point is that Israel doesn’t have unilateral control over a border between Gaza and Egypt, despite the willingness of some to pretend that it does.

  4. Let the Irish stay there. What is the big deal? They want to stay there. Besides Egypt is the one that Ireland needs to convince not Israel.

  5. So you mean they act impulsively before thinking about future implications? Shocking

  6. I thought that Gaza is “open-air prison”, what are different nationalities doing in there?

  7. That’s why they are keeping them there, as hostages, to stop an EU country expelling an ambassador.

  8. Want to give a qoute from the other article

    > An estimated 8,000 foreign and dual nationals, and their immediate dependents, are trying to leave Gaza, a DFA spokeswoman said.

    > “The evacuations are being managed country by country on a phased basis, it will take some time for this process to be completed,” she said. “Irish citizens are not included in today’s list, but we continue to urgently seek to have Irish citizens included on the list in the coming days.

Seems like it’s only a matter of time controlling the flow of people not a ban from leaving.

This article as well, doesn’t name the party that put them back in priority of crossing
