Ok, so Disney bought the original masters for $400 million. What are they going to be worth after they are all replaced with superior, new versions that have extra tracks and the endorsement of the artist? Does Disney just raise the white flag and admit defeat? Save face by giving Taylor the rights back for free and at least get a PR victory out of it? Scooter Braun looks like a genius throughout, made an absolutely insane amount of cash on a toxic asset.
I wish someone would ask whoever forked over the cash for those original master to Braun “why would you pay all this money for something when Taylor told the whole world she would re-record them?” I mean this whole story is wild to me, would you gamble $400 million at a poker table against the best poker player in the world thinking they are bluffing you? Why would you spend $400 million thinking Taylor is bluffing on re-recording her tracks? This whole story is wild to me
