For anyone outside the US reading this with alarm, keep in mind “us officials” can include republican house of representatives speakers who are card carying members of the “pro putin douchebro crew”…

Appeasement doesn’t work.
All free world should stand with Ukraine, Ukraine is paying by life’s of their best people. If evil wins in Ukraine, other dictators will try their luck.
There will be a time when Russia will start steamrolling Ukrainian land. Ukraine is running out of troops, while Russia still has millions.
Butttt western media was saying Russia was running out of troops for years now
Wouldn’t they just regroup and attack again with replenished supplies?
I predict peace talk before US election 😉
I love my country, but they’re leaving Ukraine out to die, just to bloody Putin’s nose, failing to realize that it’s not like the States–a couple hundred thou dead soldiers won’t get you evicted from the capitol. The US has the chance to deploy weapons to end this and set a precedent, but are gonna sit on it, let Ukrainians die, then wonder why Ukrainians hate the US.
As I feared, Russia is going to win.
Again, the west fails to understand what we were up against: a leadership that is perfectly happy to lose a million men to gain a scrap more power. And they’ll have taken pieces of Ukraine for only 50k men. A bargain. A smashing success. They will do this again and we’ll fail again, because we simply don’t understand and can’t maintain our attention long enough.
It was a mistake from the beginning to treat this as a local problem. NATO should have cleared Ukrainian soil with a promise not to cross the border into Russia. Russia was never going to use nukes to avoid a loss, and if we believe they were, then we shouldn’t have supported Ukraine at all since we were never going to let them win and risk nukes.
But it was never about nukes. It was about money and isolationism and attention spans and a misunderstanding of where Russia is headed. Ukraine will be eaten over the next decade, either wholly like Chechnya or politically like Belarus. Poland and the Baltics are next. As it works, China will follow the roadmap to victory in Taiwan.
Our failure to truly stand and make clear that invasions of conquest will not be tolerated will have handed the world to the worst elements.
Ukraine gave up 3rd largest (after ruzzia, US) nuclear arsenal in the world under pressure and promises of security guarantees from US [1].
Now, US politicians are afraid of putin and are arguing whether to send some obsolete missiles to Ukraine or not.

Russian wont stop
Don’t negotiate with terrorists.
This math only works if you assume Russia will fully mobilize its society for war. As it stands it’s Russia, not Ukraine which has been seeing more personnel shortages.
Or are we all forgetting the Kharkiv Counteroffensive where Ukrainian forces broke through the first line, only to find nothing behind that?
Sounds like they might have to start drafting those influencers that were streaming from clubs and beaches this summer.
Contrasting those F’s to the volunteers who were killed running the military checkpoints to deliver food to cut off animal shelters makes me want to vomit.
Color me sckeptical here.
I’m a bit puzzled about this assessment. Statistically speaking , BOTH sides can field as much soldiers as they want ( casualties in the world wars were in the millions) and keep going for years like that. Cynical, I know, but historically accurate.
Plus, the estimate of ukraine having 200K casulaties seems somewhat taken out of nowhere. It does link to an article in the guardian….which dosen’t say that at all. It says that the number varies from sources to sources, ONE of them the source say that Russia had 300K , out of a 500K total casualties ( so okay, 500-300=200, but then again, they claim they got that number by basing themselves from social media post, among all thing, so I take it with a grain of salt)
And another estimate, an intelligence leak, mention that Ukraine killed were around 17K, and russia 43K.Quite a different number here.
The core of the article is that it emphasize on the fact that most Ukraine casualties are wounded and that a much higher proportion of russian one are killed.
I feel this detail was conveniently taken out of context by the article from the insider.
( shock value give the best artcile to read I guess)

Don’t get me wrong, casualties are high, and are horrible, but if history is any lesson here, manpower is going to continue to be available for quiet a while.
Defending against invaders > fighting because “my God said so.”
How much of a different war would it be if Ukraine was able to hit targets inside of Russia like Moscow?
I say we go in and clear this shit up. Enough is enough.
I am sick of the nuclear threat. You wanna blow the planet up? Try
This is all insane
Headline: US official hint at peace talks.
Article: Zelensky says no chance of peace talks and no international pressure to enter peace talks.

Russia won’t honor any peace talks. The key to eventually defeating Russia will be find a group that can occupy the Russian Far East and force Russia into a lengthy guerrilla war there
To be honest, in compression to Russia, Ukraine was way to respectfully in this war. At this point I would have send atacms to completely destroy every inch of the Kremlin.
I could make up any headline too that starts with “unnamed sources said”
The USA’s priorities have shifted to Israel.
If that’s what we truly believe then why are we fucking around and not giving them better weapons?
Yeah, this was inevitable. I was seeing the first signs a few months ago, and honestly its just maddening that even after all this Russia might STILL come out of this with something to gain from it.
How many able males does Russia have left? Isn’t their population shrinking even besides the war?
How about sending a brigade of Reddit armchair warriors to Ukraine? They are so brave and I’m sure that would drastically improve Ukraine’s chances to win.
Nato should have been more decisive right when this all started. Only further military escalation will solve this.
Russia is gonna play the long game. The west will eventually get tired and abandon Ukraine
If those peace talks are actually forced upon Ukraine and then later on Russia becomes an even worse dictatorship and follows it up by attacking, for example, Kazakhstan…are these US officials going to commit a honorable seppuku?
Time to move on to “scrapping the barrel” recruitment.
Yawn. Blatant concern trolling. If anything, the side that has been reduced to mobilizing women from prisons is the one that’ll run out of troops.
All military aged males FLED. est 7 million left
