Look at the map over the last 6 months or a year even. Last major success was Kherson, since then it’s been an attritional grind across the front. Looking at the weather its been raining recently. That means fall mud is gonna bog down offensive efforts, meaning nothing is gonna happen until the ground freezes in winter, and even then it’s not the time for major operations. That means 6-7 months before can try again, and support is already wavering… gonna be a long winter.

I’m 100% in the bag for Ukraine in this conflict, but they really need to get their story straight. Winning this war is largely predicated on keeping foreign donors motivated.
I’m not convinced that if Ukraine or Russia won, Donbas and Crimea wouldn’t rattle their sabers in the future and cause problems for whomever ruled them. The inherent problem of these regions is that they have a Russian ethnic majority who are sympathetic to Russia and western Ukraine extracts their resources for the country’s wealth.
That doesn’t mean Donbas and Crimea necessarily want to be part of Russia, but I do think they feel as if they’re taken advantage of and not represented by the Ukranian majority.
It’s best to set both sides down to the table and have third parties they both agree to monitor elections for what the people of Donbas and Crimea actually want. Then give any who wish to immigrate to the other country ten years to do so. The only true victory in this war is democratic representation for the people of these regions.

Aim for tens of millions of dead Russian soldiers and hope they’ll come to their senses before then. Nations should also waive the restrictions of not hitting inside Russia with their weapons as well, since that’s where their production and training resides.

His general already explained the situation. No amount of weapons will uproot what has been stolen in this invasion. Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower to sustain a frozen conflict. The other issue is the fact that Ruzzia did a great job laying mines and other defensive tactics all along the front. Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower or firepower to mitigate this reality. Signing a peace deal is out of the question. Ukraine should be investing in a revolution and subterfuge within Ruzzia and do their best to hold the line until Putler commits suicide or is taken out by Navalny’s followers.
