  1. lol Jack Smith pulling the old Brer Rabbit to get Judge Trumpsucker to do the opposite of what he’s asking for

  2. On the one hand having cameras would probably help Trump and give him more airtime and coverage. On the other hand I really want to see it though…

  3. As much as I’d like to watch the trial, I tend to agree with Jack Smith. I think cameras in the courtroom would work in Trump’s favor. For one thing, the cameras would likely intimidate witnesses testifying against him. Also, Trump will make sure he’s the star of the show, playing up the victim to his cult audience.

  4. I would be arguing the same thing if I was him.

But I’m not him. I want cameras to record every second of the most important justice procedure in human history.

  5. They’re afraid Trump will be photographed crying like the spoiled toddler he is.

  6. I wouldn’t mind to at least get the audio. That and courtroom sketches would be best. That way I wouldn’t have to actually see or hear him.

  7. God I hope this is just a ploy to get Trump to demand it be televised, and then Jack Smith just “acquiesces…”

  8. The literal most important trial in our country’s history should absolutely not happen behind closed doors and should be available for absolutely everyone to see.

If we can do it for pointless political prosecutions like Rittenhouse, or obviously guilty person(s) associated with the Ahmaud Arbery murder, we can do it for the former POTUS

  9. Please don’t. Let’s not turn this into a goddam judge judy meets jerry springer bullshit extravaganza.

  10. It would be funny if it was done podcast style

  11. I believe everyone should see it. However, the law says no cameras in the courtroom. We are all familiar with sketch artists. That law is why the press hires sketch artists.

If the law gets ignored without Trump and his team agreeing, then it’s sure to be a mistrial on appeal.

If Trump and his lawyers agree? If that’s what they want? Then I’m all in on broadcasting it.

  12. But I’ve enjoyed seeing Uday and Qusay squirm and say that they don’t know anything about the documents they’ve signed. I want to see Trump’s Captain Queeg moment.

  13. I work from home. My productivity will go to shit if this trial is on TV all day.

  14. I hate that being a pathologically lying piece of shit with a lot of power, money, and zero scruples gives you the ultimate advantage in our society.

  15. Duh. It would be a bigger circus than it already is.

  16. At the very least completely recorded for release to the public afterwards.

  17. That’s a mistake. 100% transparency is the only way to criminally prosecute a former President, especially a pathological liar like Trump. You NEED those cameras to support the truth of what occured. Try and hide it and Trump will use that as an opportunity to make shit up.

  18. We should sue to have it televised under the victim clause.

  19. I actually agree with Jack on this. The media would turn this into a circus.

  20. It’s important for it to be public, Trump and his legal team will just lie about what’s going on behind closed doors like they are with the NY trial otherwise. For instance Habba said Don Jr did really well on the stand even though he just sat their denying knowledge of forms with his signature on them.

  21. This is a disservice to all Americans. Regardless of outcome the trial is historic and should be archived in all possible media. Never before has a former President been tried in this manner. People will want to study it historically.
