Honestly, I think it’s a shame. Mostly because of the wasted resources, but still. It must have looked pretty epic. Maybe they could have just remove Stalin and make it a Monument of Socialism or something like that. I mean, first they had to demolish a brand new sports stadium in that place, then reinforce the hillside, then force the architect to change his project several times until he killed himself and after just 7 years they took it all down. So much for nothing.

Apparently journalists were kept away from the detonation which is why there are only a few photos of it and just one video, made by someone who managed to sneak through the guards. Wasn’t exactly good for PR.
I know its size , but i think its should have been kept somehow and not destroyed but eh
