  1. That won’t add any pressure on the rental market at all…

  2. “Mr Varadkar said about 30 per cent of the 500 to 800 Ukrainians arriving each week had claimed temporary protection in another European country before moving to Ireland”

They should be turned away immediately. They are not fleeing anything or looking for safety.

  3. I hope some Ukraine mammies get all kinds of raging at the housing market in Irleand and mobilise themselves. In ways that Irish can’t and or won’t.

    😉

  4. there are no direct flights from ukraine to ireland so people departed from the EU, UK, or maybe Turkey etc.

  5. This is a good change. Ukrainians have been looked after more than any other group of refugees even though the majority of their country isn’t under attack. Compare the welfare benefits (+ accommodation) offered to anywhere else – it’s putting too much pressure on our local services. From personal experience working in high-cost retail, the Ukrainians are loaded

  6. Won’t someone please consider the impact on the Tourism sector if the 25% of room currently occupied were suddenly vacated how would the hotels shore up the 350.00 per night they are charging……..the poor hoteliers
