Apocalypse and gradual non lifethreatening change are completely different scenarios. Maybe if the climate experts would sell a bit more “doom” we would improve a lot more but currently they resemble the newschannel more as the experts in the movie.
De film is teleurstellend.
Heeft totaal niets te maken met klimaat? Is een asteroide klimaat??
Fun fact: the director wrote the movie before the pandemic and was shocked that a lot of it came true.
Saw it, its a wierd movie and a bit over the top and you have to know the context to realize they want to parody the climate change response.
What a clickbaity title
>Toch wil Deboosere nog aanstippen dat het fout is om enkel naar de politiek te kijken. De oplossingen moeten van ons allemaal komen. “Het volstaat niet om één keer per jaar de verwarming een graad lager te draaien of een halfuur het licht uit te doen en verder business as usual te blijven doen, volop vlees te blijven eten en te vliegen naar de andere kant van de wereld. Dat stoot massaal veel broeikasgassen uit.
[Global aviation (including domestic and international; passenger and freight) accounts for: 1.9% of greenhouse gas emissions (which includes all greenhouse gases, not only CO2) 2.5% of CO2 emissions.](https://ourworldindata.org/co2-emissions-from-aviation)
So I would agree with meat consumption, however: [beef’s GHG emissions per kilogram are 7.2 times greater than those of chicken.](https://css.umich.edu/factsheets/carbon-footprint-factsheet) So it highly depends on the type of meat you consume.
Just felt like pointing out that even “climate experts” like Deboosere often have no idea of what they’re talking about, or at least they communicate without the proper nuance.

[According to the data presented, the meat and dairy industries create 7.1 gigatons of greenhouses gases annually—that’s 14.5% of total man-made emissions](https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidrvetter/2020/10/05/got-beef-heres-what-your-hamburger-is-doing-to-the-climate/?sh=9ebcf6b5206f)

As for air travel, most emissions are caused by a small elite group of “super travelers”. Your average family that travels once or twice a year won’t make the difference: [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/31/elite-minority-frequent-flyers-aviation-climate-damage-flights-environmental](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/31/elite-minority-frequent-flyers-aviation-climate-damage-flights-environmental)
