  1. Really sad. Know a lot of people who knew the lad with a fair few who had played footie with him and all say he was genuinely a nice person. Hit a bit close to home this one. Can’t imagine what his parents are going though.

    Those electric bikes can be death traps. Speed of some of them is scary. Where I work I’m aware of a number of serious injuries to young men / teenagers who were riding electric bikes. Roads aren’t the safest places for normal bikes. I’ve seen those electric bikes zipping on / off footways through red lights etc. I’ve seen a lot of aggression by car drivers towards cyclists in general. I wouldn’t want my son riding one.

  2. This is tragic for the family, but there are approx 1,500 deaths per day in the UK, with the top two killers being heart dissease and Alzheimer’s, not sure why one road death on an electric bike makes news against the other 1,499, but then I accept I could just be heartless.
