This is the true will of hamas – to endanger palestinian kids, to hide behind civilians like human shields, to encourage Israel to cause more collateral damage in the gaza strip. Hamas wishes for all palestinians to die as “martyrs” and wishes for the total destruction of the gaza strip.

The impunity with which both sides are committing atrocities, escalating the rhetoric, and using the civilian population as pawns is in part a symptom of the sort of multi-polar, anarchic mafia world the Trumps and the Putins among us are trying so mightily to bring into being. Human decency is not a reliable basis for policy nor a foundation for order. Stronger nations, looking at you USA, must exert power to create conditions where this sort of bestial behavior no longer aligns with the interests of the parties engaging in it.
