Happy New Year! I just thought I’d hop back into this sub and give a little update from what’s happened since the scarf [**post**](https://www.reddit.com/r/sweden/comments/kutcn4/thank_you_sweden_a_while_ago_i_posted_here_asking/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) a year ago, just in case anyone was interested! 🙂
First of all, I wanted to say THANK YOU again especially to u/TheWxyz ! He was the one who sent me the scarf as well as a pennant. As promised, I sent him my package and he made sure to send [**THIS**](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1crxM89Xngm7e68o5jVsg8jfys8ncK2lG/view?usp=sharing) photo of him holding the maple syrup with the Turning Torso in the skyline. One day when I visit Sweden I’ll be sure to check it out haha.
Anyway, since the scarf video was posted I have received many more scarves and I’m happy to say the collection has reached 221 scarves from 74 different countries. ([**List of countries**](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PpSfV9urozxZxjyvXcVvhFi-sLVx1Fmx/view?usp=sharing))!
This whole chain of events led to [**articles**](https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj_ycPV9In1AhUFbs0KHeQxA-UQFnoECCcQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.joe.co.uk%2Ffootball%2Fmaple-syrup-football-scarves-265356&usg=AOvVaw2t_T6fOZcZSXdmW7aQGkhS) and [**interviews**](https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj_ycPV9In1AhUFbs0KHeQxA-UQwqsBegQIBRAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fglobalnews.ca%2Fvideo%2F7677755%2Fwhitby-man-trades-canadian-maple-syrup-for-football-scarves&usg=AOvVaw0u5eesy0T1siQYwstJ7d0a) from all over and really made me rethink how I wanted to spend the next chapter of my life. Something about this project and the way the world reacted gave me a really wholesome feeling and a desire to do something bigger. It made me curious to learn more about other cultures and visit all the amazing people who sent me something.
So, I have decided I’m going to travel and attempt to become the youngest Canadian to visit every country in the world. Slowly (and safely) but surely, as I travel, I’ll be collecting more scarves, handing out maple syrup, watching football and meeting up with the people who have sent me scarves. I plan to create [**videos**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eawjMYgnOo4) to share to friends and family plus a [**blog**](https://www.reddit.com/r/DanielJRobertsonBlog/comments/rslb47/1_year_update_the_collection_is_now_221_scarves/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) on Reddit to act as a home to all my written travel stories.
