  1. I’m sure we will be reeling from the strongly worded letter .

Maybe they can send some independent observers to document what they see and then do nothing .

  2. The growth of poverty in the UK is astonishing and depressing, but the UN taking action as a GLOBAL organization is beyond ridiculous considering the scale of global poverty.

  3. I expect to see mass protests about this but no, masses are only concerned with other country issues

  4. Tomorrow Braverman declares the UN an illegal organisation and backer of terrorism. /s

  5. >”If you look at the price of housing, electricity, the very high levels of inflation for food items over the past couple of years, I believe that the £85 a week for adults is too low to protect people from poverty”

People on benefits who need to pay rent get extra benefits to pay that, either housing benefit or the housing element of UC. They don’t have to pay it out of the £85 a week. If he doesn’t even understand the basics of how our welfare system works then his conclusions are unreliable. Likewise food is cheaper in the UK relative to income than most if not all other countries in the world in fact.

Then again this is the same UN which has the likes of Iran and Russia on its human rights boards and says the UK owes black people £18 trillion in reparations for slavery. The UN is no longer a serious organisation, if it ever was.

  6. Thank god, finally with this behind them the government will be able to solve poverty, what took the UN so long??
