New high jump in Kilcock burned this evening in an arson attack. Not the first arson attack in the town this year either. They say in a post on Facebook that a previous attempt to attack the facilities was foiled recently. Why people are going so out of their way to destroy a community facility that volunteers have spent loads of time fundraising for I don’t know. Boils my blood. Getting to the stage that we can’t have anything nice because some low-lives will no doubt go and destroy it.

  1. This has the Steeplechase Gang’s fingerprints all over it. They have been feuding with the High-jumpers for years.

  2. We tolerate this thuggery. Not only that, we protect it. Anyone who tackles these vermin would face prosecution. Along with our absent policing and judicial system.

  3. Just an asshole or a few assholes. But if it’s found who it was, they or their families should be made cough up for it. This bullshit that the tax payer will pick up the tab is starting to wear thin.

  4. But there’s no facilities for the angles to play that’s why der doin this Joe.

  5. Track is destroyed as well. Track can cost millions. We are already short on decent tracks in the country. Athletics gets fuck all funding, Olympians have day jobs and train in evenings.

  6. Such scummy, cunty behaviour. Really good example of “we can’t have nice things”. Pricks who ruin society for everyone else should face serious consequences.

  7. This happens because Irish society accepts it, through the lack of consequences for people who do these things again and again and again.

It doesn’t have to be like this. It’s possible to live in a society where not everything has to be locked down to protect it from the lowest common denominator scumbags.

I’m sorry this happened. So disappointing for the community and volunteers.

  8. We can have nice things, we just can’t have them in shite areas.

Blackrock, greystones, foxrock; beautiful places with many amenities.

And that’s because the people there raise their kids right.

Oh no wait it’s actually for some other reason, probably societies fault, right?

Maybe it’s the fault of the people whose kids aren’t feral? MAKES SENSE.
