Fast fashion: Boohoo breaks promises on ethical overhaul

  1. The article is full of scummy behaviour from Boohoo. My personal favourite is they have footage of a supervisor telling factory workers asking to finish their shift to go home and feed their families that “no-one is leaving at 8, or 10, or later”. And then their response to this was “our normal working hours are from 8:00 to 18:00 and it never forces workers to stay late”.

  2. So avoiding breaches of contract to force suppliers to sell at a loss or break employment laws, not caring about wellbeing at any of their suppliers.

Are some companies so desperate for business they can’t say “piss off” to them?

If companies continue to operate unethically or break the law, it’s because the consequences of doing so aren’t high enough to deter them.
