  1. Muslim
    Indians allowed?

Edit: lol at the downvotes at a genuine question. There was an attempt at pretending Israel is somewhat tolerant of Muslims

  2. Many Palestinians got their income through jobs in Israel. Thanks to Hamas they will have lost those jobs forever.

  3. seems like a good news for Indian labour sector, nature hates vacuum ..

  4. If twitter is anything to go by, Indians are the most vocal supporters of Israel outside of the American right. Presumably they feel they share a common enemy in the shape of Muslims.

  5. Palestinians workers from the west bank and Gaza was the bridge for coexistence.

Those were the best jobs a Palestinian can find.
Now that it is gone by a violent minority the life’s of normal Palestinians is going to be so much harder.

  6. Maybe it’s for the best. Israel and Palestine should separate as much as possible and stay away from each other however they can. I wish we could move from who is right or wrong, good or bad, and transition into WTF is going to happen to allow the world to move forward.

  7. Make sense, would rather have people from a country we are not at war with

  8. From a logistical point of view it seems clear they will keep the Palestinian workers at least from the West Bank. Over 100,000 workers (and many more illegal workers) cross each day to the Israeli territories and in general there is really no problems with terrorism from this sector. The logistics behind bringing in Indian workers, processing visas and housing them is too much hassle.

  9. As an Indian I am happy about this news as some of the Indians working in UAE and Qatar can move to israel for much better working conditions.

  10. It’s clear that Israel want non muslim and pro Israel workers, and India is a good choice. But there are also Indian muslims having pro Palestine rally holding hate against Israel. How does Israel tell if an Indian is Hindu or Muslim? If a terrorist wants to infiltrate, he can lie all the way.

  11. There is something else to consider with this.

India has been increasingly more assertive in espousing it’s own priorities on the world stage. And increasingly more able to match their words with deeds.

Meaning that if HAMAS, or any other terror group kidnaps or murders an Indian worker in Israel, India might be far more willing to denounce the act… and use it’s power (economic, military) to do something about it.

  12. In a sane world there would be a west asian union incuding israel, and a south asian union including pakistan

  13. Hey if they are civilized enough to not steal their passports and treat them like slaves, it’s a win for everyone.

  14. Another reason why Hamas is bad for Palestinians. Peace is good for business.

  15. To be honest thats really good for Israelis, because construction level is downright shit, the safety of the workers are horrible ,and they sabotage the building process to save costs and to make future fixing works.

  16. Israel has been doing this for decades. Palestinian strikes and protests in the 1990s led to the mass recruitment of temporary workers from Eastern Europe (Romania, Thailand the the Philippines were major sources). In turn, Palestinian employment and income crashed – more so when Gaza lost access to the West Bank after 2005.

  17. This is going to be huge hit for livelihood of Israeli arabs and Gazans. Very many of them being professional construction workers their whole life.

The impact on Israeli arabs , is something hotly debated in israel right now. They are citizens of Israel and nobody wants to see them degrade into poverty. Which could be problematic on many levels for everyone.

Problem is that the trust is on all time low right now. With reports of many workers that worked long years in places like kibbutzim, have been accepted almost as family. Returning during the massacre to kill the same people they worked for, or providing maps and plans for terrorists.

As for Gazans, they chose this story. They will not be allowed to cross into Israel never again.
Hope Egyptians will be better job givers than Israelis ( and I say this with cynicism, because Egyptians dont want nothing to do with Gazans, and will probably hermetically close their borders too )
