I hate the argument of “let’s not rehash the past; let’s look to the future.” It’s not like the 2020 election is some piece of history; it’s literally the most recent election. And the past is supposed to inform the future. We’re looking to the past so that we don’t end up with another January 6 or worse.
If we make mistakes, we’re supposed to correct them. If people are confirmed to be lying and manipulative, then we shouldn’t re-elect them. As a political figure, Scalise should know and embody this idea. Trump tried to argue that the election was stolen from him and was struck down in court 60 times. At this point, you either want America to learn and grow or you don’t. Scalise is clearly one of the latter.
