I was wondering how long it would be until this happened. Those Shaheds aren’t anything special, technology-wise, so I figured it was only a matter of time before the industrious Ukrainians would be able to develop their own version.
If russian air defense thought things were bad before….
They are easy to shoot down and only good for stationary targets.
So maybe use them as decoy to reveal Russian AA or mask the real missiles among them.
Its cheap, so there’s that. Good for harassment.
Good. Let’s see how much copium they will need to deal with this, having less than competent air defense, more targets and spread over a bigger area. No target will be safe from the Dnipro to the Urals.
Early Christmas delivery to Moscow hopefully
I’m surprised we don’t see more tech like the ww2 v1 flying bomb.
Something very cheap to produce, the thing was cheap rolled steel and plywood, has a 250km range at 600km/h and dropped an 800kg bomb.
Integrate with the tech level you see in commodity chips for smartphones, you have a cheap accurate delivery model that could overwhelm air defence with numbers.
The things were crazy simple ideas.
Nice. Hit their residential blocks
Whoever confirmed this needs to be sacked. Why reveal these specifics? Either an idiot or a traitor.
