  1. 55%

    39% against

A majority of people here also believe that a 50% plus one vote is enough to determine the outcome of a border poll, but seven in 10 unionists oppose this and want a supermajority.

  2. Most people couldn’t give 2 fucks about it anymore.

  3. Can we sort out the 26 counties we have firstly before we add anymore. Cos we’re kinda struggling.

  4. Why would the Republic want any of those knuckle dragger bigots and an annual 8bn black hole?

  5. You know, for all the talk over the last few weeks about why we as a people empathise with and support the Palestinian right to sovereignty, a lot of that sentiment seems to disappear into thin air when the northern question is raised here.

Edit: Obviously this poll comes out with a majority but the minority is a significant one which is reflected in a surprising share of the comments on threads like this.

  6. Let the downvoting begin: I’m sick of Northern Ireland. I’m sick of Mícheál Martin and his shared island shite and paying for stuff in the 6 counties. We should run the 26 county state as a super efficient secular republic. If you want to vote to join, grand. If you want to stay in dinosaur land grand. But stop dominating our politics and lives with this stuff.
