**Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has decided to initiate the procedure for recalling the Polish ambassador to the Czech Republic, government spokesman Piotr Müller said on Thursday. As he stressed, “there is no agreement with extremely irresponsible statements on the Turow mine issue.”**”Prime Minister Morawiecki has decided to initiate the procedure to dismiss the Polish ambassador to the Czech Republic. There is no consent for extremely irresponsible statements on the Turow mine. Every Polish diplomat has a duty to look after Polish interests.” – wrote the government spokesman on Twitter.
Polish Ambassador in Prague Mirosław Jasiński gave an interview to Deutsche Welle, in which he was asked, among other things, whether the Turów dispute could be resolved amicably. “I do not allow at all that there is any other possibility,” said the ambassador. “At the moment, however, Czech ministries are working on the prime minister’s exposé. For us, this is unfavorable, because it is difficult to set dates for meetings. In fact, I think there are very few details left technically undone. I think that we will manage to finish it during one meeting at the level of environment ministries. I hope that afterwards the prime ministers will meet relatively quickly,” he continued.
Speaking about the origins of the Turów dispute, Jasiński said that “it was a lack of empathy, lack of understanding and unwillingness to engage in dialogue – first and foremost from the Polish side”. “After all, similar things happened in Bełchatów or Konin, too, and no one there made a big deal out of it,” he said.
