Have lived in Manchester for about 4 years now, but still haven’t been to a football game. We have some Japanese friends coming to visit and we hoping to show them all that Manchester has to offer, including a football game and as City isn’t playing any games, United is our only hope.

After doing a bit of research, it’s apparently cheapest to buy from the official site but as the above pic shows, this doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m guessing the reasonably priced tickets all go to season ticket holders?

I’ve also looked at sites like [seatpick.com](https://seatpick.com) and [footballticketnet.com](https://www.footballticketnet.com/) but tickets are still in the £100-£120 range. Is this normal for a game between United and Spurs?

Any advice would very appreciated.

  1. I think clubs still seperate games in categories. So you’ll pay more of a premium when Man United are playing the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, and Liverpool compared to when they play Burnley or Wolves.

Big clubs aren’t exactly known for cost friendly tickets, especially if you’re trying to buy a group of tickets as just a one off for a big game.

  2. Get the tram down to Oldham and watch some proper football

  3. If you don’t already have a membership then I’d suggest going to lower league game instead. I’d say £100-120 for third party sites for a United game isn’t actually too bad but they could also be scams. Not sure what you’re looking at on the site as you haven’t linked anything yet but it could be hospitality seats as from memory they start at £150pp.

If you wanted to get reasonably priced tickets then you need to be signed up to a membership (your friends will have had to have done the same) and have gotten some sort of history with purchasing tickets/getting ‘points’ to get access to them.

  4. Simple: watch a game that’s lower down the leagues.

  5. Stockport County are playing some great football, currently sitting top of League 2 and it’s less than 10 mins on the train from Manchester city centre.
