  1. My first thought is airsoft, but I think because I used to do it.

It’s probably not unreasonable to find something like this weird to encounter though, really, and you wouldn’t really know.

  2. Saints bless us and preserve us, holy mary mudderagod!

  3. The shooting season is open since the first of November. Maybe that’s what they were up to. In saying that. they look more like an airsoft group.

  4. If it is airsoft or a photoshoot, they are quite foolish and potentially in a lot of trouble with RIF laws.

  5. Military aged males!

You’d think the Guards would vet them, they were right there like.

  6. Why did they send out one squad car to a report of armed men?

  7. How sheltered and boring must your life be to go to the news AND a minister about a some lads in airsoft gear. The guards even said to her it was a photoshoot and the Karen still wasn’t satisifed.

    >I felt afraid walking past this group and they made no effort to alleviate the intimidation their presence would cause in a public place,”

How exactly should they “alleviate the intimidation”? Walk around with their hands up shouting “FEAR NOT! WE ARE NOT TIME TRAVELLING WEHRMACHT SOLDIERS COME TO CONQUER LIMERICK!!”?

    >As I left the car park a squad car came against me. They told me that it was a ‘military photoshoot’. I don’t think this response was good enough. Each member of the group was dressed in military gear. There was no clear sign of a ‘photographer’, nor did I see a camera. There was ample opportunity for the group to speak to me as I passed and say that they were only on a photoshoot, but they remained aloof and to me appeared quite serious.”

So she had the situation clearly explained to her by the Guards but feels the response “wasn’t good enough”? What more does she want? The Guards to offer her counselling on the spot?

    She’s complaining that the dudes didn’t speak to her, but also says;

    >the first man returned a greeting to her.

Does she honestly expect a bunch of lads to stop at EVERY person they walk past and give a detailed breakdown of every single thing they did that day? Why does she feel like she deserves their time? If anything, if the lads decided to stop and try and talk to her, that would be more “intimidating” than them just walking past her and paying her no attention.

What’s worse – A group of lads with guns ignoring you entirely, or trying to get your attention and stop you?

    Absolute entitled busybody.

  8. Sounds like the Garda response time was pretty good to me. She passed them on her way out, yet she’s complaining about their level of attention.

  9. This is ridiculous on all sides tbh. The woman who witnessed it is blowing the whole thing out of proportion they didnt point them at her and weren’t being aggressive.the lads in the gear carrying airsoft or replica rifles should have just bagged the guns when they weren’t taking any photos. The gaurds also should have taken further action as it violates a lot of laws just walking around in public with replica fire arms, it sends the wrong message to people but I understand they may have been informed prior to the witness calling them.

  10. You wouldnt have anything from the Allied side?

No that sort of thing wouldnt interest me at all
