So I’ve been dealing with this issue for a few months now. The building management does what it can be have the bins cleared regularly but the dumping keeps happening. And the spot has genuinely become a playground for foxes and rats and insects. I’ve requested the building management to issue some sort of a warning to the residents but that hasn’t happened. Therefore this desperate attempt to instill some shame in those few horrible people that are making the place bad for everyone!

Yes. You could eliminate 90% of the copy and still get the point across.
Nobody is reading all that. Just have “STOP BEING DIRTY PIGS” in big and bold letters.
It must be extremely irritating, but this message is a teeny bit over the top….
Suggest you review it in a week or so when you’ve cooled down
That note is just incredibly worthless. You unloading your emotions onto an a4 bit of paper isn’t going to make anyone else do anything you want them to.
Edit: sorry, to be clearer: you know how people talk about how they have some crazy neighbour who writes mental notes? this is that note. calm the fuck down mate.
Try Nextdoor, might give you the release you need. But in all seriousness: shaming, verbally attacking and insulting your neighbours is very unlikely to get you what you want. After all, if you’ve done something wrong, would such a massive cause you to change your mind? Try a more neutral tone. For example, I’d lose the picture, and just write “Please dispose of your rubbish in the containers, and do not leave it on the floor. Leaving rubbish on the floor will attract foxes and rats” etc etc. Inform, educate, move on.
Try to say less, and be less personal. You would have lost me halfway through sentence two.
You could delete everything bar the final three paragraphs.
Your point is valid but you sound like a total dickhead – and you are going to make enemies of your neighbors.
Unfortunately people are just shitty.
You posting a complaint like this unfortunately does not make them less shitty.
I work in an adjacent line to housing management. If you want a response, post a complaint to the building’s managing agent on twitter. Nothing gets swift action like the CEO’s seeing bad press.
Is this by any chance a council housing estate that you’ve moved onto somewhat recently through private ownership or rental tenancy?
If so I reckon the majority of the other residents are just going to think “Who’s this posh twat?” and simply disregard that condescending note the same way the rest of the rubbish is discarded around those bins.
I would suggest there’s a better and ultimately more productive way of getting the same message across
If someone’s bin bags, which they repeatedly insist on leaving next to the bins instead of in the actual bins, had been ripped open by foxes and identifiable waste such as prescription boxes etc were strewn everywhere along with vermin attracting pet food (pets not allowed in building), would it be too much to put that persons first name in a polite notice stuck to the bin so that they would see it?
Asking for a frustrated friend.
let me be a cautionary tale, our bin area was dirty (mattress left out, broken bags, etc.) and not only have foxes started nibbling on my appendages, bedbugs invaded England
[removed]
If the area is overrun with foxes then is anyone else questioning whether it was the foxes that made it this way? That’s what they do, they go into the bins, they drag stuff around.
Are you living with residents from over seas by any chance? The people in my block of flats have changed over the years, our bin area makes yours look tidy 🤣
Improve the layout and there’s a good chance it will cease.Put some good CCTV stickers up.It might work.
They key thing to remember with something like this is **people are motivated mostly by self-interest**.

I think the scenario requires a letter like this because you’re right it attracts rodents and foxes. I think this should be your prime angle for re-wording the flyer. Make it clear to people that they’re attracting mice and rats to their own building. But I’d skip on the part about their appendages.

As for the legal angle or reporting it to the council, you don’t need that either as nobody who reads the flyer will care about that anyway. Just aim to make it clear to whoever is doing it why it’s counterproductive to their own interests and you’ll get a better letter.
I’d keep it simple and have a picture of some huge rats by some bins with these words over the top.
Vacant Bins Wanted. 4 Rats looking for a good home. Must have Rubbish thrown everywhere and a few selfish af residents who don’t give a shit about where they live. Clean bin area will not be accepted under any circumstance.
PLEASE KEEP THE BIN AREA CLEAN BEFORE THE DISEASE CARRYING RATS MOVE IN FOR GOOD!
No ones gonna read that bro.
Simple bold letters in giant sizes.
“CONGRATS. YOU ARE ALL FILTHY BASTARDS”.
And increase the size of the photos.
Have the same issue where I live, and not just that I have personally seen the guy doing it twice and kicked him out of the communal bin area both times. It’s also been reported. It’s a code locked, but really shitty door which has had to code changed but is often still kept open.
If people are looking for electronics or other such value to sell they will do whatever it takes and bar being physical, clearly not a recommendation, they are unlikely to stop doing it even with a verbal warning – you can’t stare at the bin for 24 hours a day.
No reserve fund where we live but if there was I would be pushing for a metal door with key only access.
There are plenty of areas in the world where this is considered perfectly normal.
London has now become one of those places.
