Just saw smn’s post about their Estonian citizenship application and it made me smile, as I was writing about mine last year and so much felt relatable. Since then a lot has followed. Such twisted turns and adventures. It’s been anything but a smooth ride, as everything that could go wrong went wrong:) I’ve started writing ‘trilogy’ series about this saga and have published the first one on my new blog. You can check out the first story if interested ➡️ [https://chaoticluster.com/2023/10/23/passports-rats-and-citizenship-applications/](https://chaoticluster.com/2023/10/23/passports-rats-and-citizenship-applications/) Will follow up with the part 2 soon:)
I have been granted my citizenship in October and to this day was still clearing up some more bureaucratic mess between the two states that was deterring me from applying for my Estonian ID and passport. Symbolically enough, just as I was reading another OP’s post about their citizenship application story, the long-waited email popped up on my screen, notifying me that the remaining issue has been resolved and the granted citizenship has been fully enforced:) Gotta love those synchronicities:)
