NATO and EU reject Russia’s ‘sphere of influence’ claim over Ukraine

  1. Isn’t it jawdropping how stupid these officials think we are.

We watch tussles over pipelines, regimes change pushed by this side or that, the slow creep eastward of countries agreeing to join a US-led military coalition, this or that country on the periphery turning east and either greeting or waving a fist at BRI initiatives, and then they turn to us and say that “spheres of influence” are a thing of the past.

Their disdain for us is so deep they probably never reflect on it, but allow it to shape their every instinct.

What they mean is that influences other than Washington’s cannot be acknowledged. The anarchists like to say that to fight for freedom you must first push to live like you are already free. Likewise the US pursues policy on the basis that it **is** absolute world leader, whether or not material reality reflects that. Respect for the imaginative powers! They make reality, as (wasn’t it Bush?) Bush said.

  3. Instead of the term “sphere of influence” they should condemn Russia for “stirring up troubles in the West, sending out cyber attacks, meddling with elections, poisoning/killing opponents, trying to invade countries…” and the list goes on.

  4. While they’re at the negotiating table, America is destabilizing Kazakhstan. Can’t win Ukraine? Belarus? Kazakhstan? Let’s destabilze them all. Seems like they hired snipers again like last time in maidan. Just going back to the well for with that famous trick
