I am sure rental lockers are rather common at train stations all around the world (or are I am wrong?)
But yes, at least for Germany they are rather common from the mid-sized station level upwards.
It has been common in bigger cities, but some have replaced their lockers with some automated underground systems.
Cologne for example.
Yes, they are common and quite handy for business travellers that have to visit clients in multiple cities over a few days, or tourists that don’t want to carry around all their stuff during the day, when the plan to check in a hotel into a different city in the evening.
Quite common on all bigger stations, have used them on several occasions. For example to already store the luggage at the train station after checking out of a hotel and then going shopping in the city
Very common in mainland Europe but you might not find them in the UK. Lockers like these were removed during The Troubles as they were used by terrorists for bombs.
Pretty common in train stations all over the world
