>The start point for the Biden Administration, with clear public support…of our European allies, must be a total rejection of the Kremlin’s fairytale narrative of threats from NATO..
Real Diplomacy can’t work with countries like Russia, China and Turkey
They can only understand the “bullying style” diplomacy
Putin only understand a gun up his arse
I don’t know why I am writing this cause ofc I’ll be just blindly downvoted to hell, but anyway…
Public opinion have already decided that Russia is the Disney villain of the story (reason for my premise), but diplomacy only works when you can see other side reasoning.
Western world can act all sanctimonious on this but reality is that we are pursuing our own selfish interest.
Russia feels surrounded, with the enemy at the doorstep. In few decades since the end of Cold War they have lost hundreds of kilometers. Their enemy were on the other side of Elba river and now they’re gonna take the last buffer state they have beyond Belarus.
How do you think the US wouls feel if in an alternate history line communism had spread to Mexico and Canada?
This is not a conflict about territorial control of Ucraine per se. The problem is the geopolitical positioning of Ucraine in the international chessboard. Russia wouldn’t care about Ucraine if NATO wouldn’t try to put a step in it.
This is Cuba crisis 2.0. At that time both leaders knew the situation had to be deescalated at all costs and they both made the necessary step towards peace. Nowadays one side seems too arrogant to really give peace a chance and the other cannot realistically step back from what seems an irreversible menace to their military security, as much as US couldn’t allow URSS to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba.
