N.B. Power quietly drops salt-based energy storage plan it touted as world first in 2021

  1. It’s “too expensive” – which is partly (entirely?) a function of the fact that we have not learned to pay enough for energy storage.

    Energy storage used to come free in tanks of oil and gas or piles of coal but it’s a separate item in the renewable-energy world and our existing business and regulatory models haven’t figured out what to do with it.
