Has there been any new Hydropower projects in the past 20 years? Hydro makes up about 3.5% of total US power. So they are saying solar did 14% more, or about 4% total US power…
article has just one sentence that so much as hints that climate crisis drought reduced hydroplant output. It’s great that we’re deploying solar and all, but let’s also remember that the bragging points here are comparing deployed solar to a SYMPTOM OF THE CRISIS: Reduced water in reservoirs = reduced power generation at the dams. I’ll be much more enthusiastic when deployed solar exceeds *theoretical* max deployed hydropower and even more when it exceeds natural gas.
