  1. I honestly had no clue tipping was a thing in Luxembourg. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone tip.

  2. Maybe rising costs and general snotty service also contribute to that.

  3. Can’t only blame the card for that. Back in the day we use to pay and get decent portion sizes, quality food and good service.

    Covid only exacerbated this issue, prices have gone up, quality of food and service gone down.

    Customers have certain expectations of how service is (used to be) you can’t just milk people and provide poor service in exchange.

  4. I almost never have cash on me going to a restaurant so I’ll usually round up when I pay with card. But I wonder how that works out for the employees if there’s no visible cash to split.

  5. I just pay with my apple wallet, don’t even have a card with me
